Exhibition Hall of the Military and Historical relics of San Daniele del Friuli
The Military Historical Memorabilia Exhibition Room is located in the so-called “Casa del Trecento” in San Daniele del Friuli, a medieval building that has withstood the hardships of time and the 1976 earthquake.
It originally housed the town pawn bank and is now home to the local ANA group. The building also hosts an interesting exhibition of military memorabilia from different periods, arranged over three floors. On the first floor are banners of the various veterans’ associations and numerous photographs of groups and special events. On the second floor visitors can see documents, posters, postcards, flags and reproductions of images connected with the history of the Alpini and Austrian units during the Great War. On the top floor there are equipment used by alpine troops, weapons and ammunition from the two world wars, and uniforms of enlisted men, NCOs and officers used in different historical periods. Particularly interesting is the reconstruction of everyday life in barracks or in the field.
