Inside the premises of the former Zucchi barracks, in the centre of Chiusaforte, visitors can see a permanent exhibition dedicated to the Great War and the surrounding area.In addition to an important display of artillery material, soldiers’ personal equipment and a section entirely devoted to food and life at the front—with a rich collection of period stoves—the exhibition includes full-size plaster copies of friezes and inscriptions found on war remains in the surrounding mountains.

This part of the exhibition is unique of its kind, because no other museum or private exhibition currently displays copies of friezes and inscriptions in such quantity. These copies were created by the association that manages the exhibition itself and, thanks to decades of field experience, have made it possible to reproduce and preserve testimonies of great importance, which have been exposed to the elements for more than a hundred years and are slowly but inexorably deteriorating beyond repair.
