10 SI Lokvica‒Komen
Stage rich in symbols and monuments that follows in various parts the route of the old military railway, making it easily accessible even to less experienced hikers.
We are in the heart of the Karst front, immersed in a rocky and green landscape at the same time, which besides its characteristic geomorphological and natural beauty hosts, like embedded shards, monuments, commemorative plaques, and markers that testify to the passage and death of many men also in these splendid places, so different from the mountain landscapes of the earlier stages. The railway along which one will proceed, designed to supply men at the front with everything they might need, is just one of these. It stands out like a scar that leads the tourist once again to immerse themselves in the reality of those times that must never be forgotten.
Author's tip
Štanjel, located 9 km from Komen, is one of the oldest settlements of the Karst, interesting for its historic part and the military cemetery.

From Kostanjevica, it proceeds towards Teminica and the hamlet of Lipa. From Lipa, it continues towards Sveto, encountering various military cemeteries testament to the different national compositions within the Austro-Hungarian Empire. The last stretch, a couple of kilometers, leads into the village of Komen.
