Walk of Peace
Linear route Refreshment stops available Cultural/historical interest Geological highlights

Stage that runs along the southern part of the Isonzo front and will lead the hiker to combine memories of war with the beauties of a natural park

A full immersion in the karst landscape offered by this stage which highlights in particular, thanks to the various visitable sites, the side of the Great War defined as “Trench Warfare”. The karst terrain, with its particular geological formation, rich in caves and sinkholes, was particularly favorable for the construction of the complex defensive systems made at the time. There are various points and sites where it will be possible to enter among the remains of these constructions, still at times well visible, without sacrificing also remarkable panoramic points and natural beauties that the Doberdò Lake and Pietrarossa Nature Reserve offers to tourists and hikers in every season.
