7A Plave–Vodice–Nova Gorica
Challenging stage that leads the hiker to the points where very bloody clashes of the Isonzo front took place before reaching Nova Gorica.
Three different open-air museums enrich this definitely challenging stage of the Walk of Peace: the one in Prižnica (also called the hill of death), the one in Vodice, and the one in Škabrijel (San Gabriele). They lead the hiker to confront both splendid landscapes and the remains of trenches and fortifications dating back to the Great War. These artifacts allow one to get an idea of what the reality of the war was like in the places where some of the most violent and bloodiest battles in the area were fought. One then proceeds to Gorizia and Nova Gorica where the stage ends in Piazza della Transalpina/Trg Evrope, the square that symbolizes friendship and cooperation between two nations.

Here shortly, it turns onto the old war trail where the remains of the front line of both sides are visible and climbs towards the summit of Prižnica. Then it descends towards some Austro-Hungarian caves until the church of San Quirino. From there it reaches the Vodice Open-Air Museum, with its extensive cave system. A new descent leads to the Preški vrh pass and the sanctuary of Sveta Gora (Monte Santo) until Prevala, where two commemorative parks are located. A new climb leads to the summit and the Škabrijel Open-Air Museum, a site of bloody clashes. The stage ends descending towards Solkan and reaching Piazza della Transalpina/Trg Evrope which connects Nova Gorica and Gorizia.
